About the site

This site highlights interesting decisions by American appellate courts. A decision may be selected because it presents a fascinating legal issue, features unusual facts, contains good writing, elicits a clash of judicial views, or is of interest for some other reason. When possible, I try to feature decisions that might escape coverage elsewhere. Because I live and work in Seattle, cases decided under Washington law make up a disproportionate minority of the cases I discuss.
